This £40m development behind a listed retained façade provides 109,000 ft² of high quality retail, commercial and residential accommodation.
CampbellReith was initially appointed by the Client, the Crown Estate Commissioners, to provide a full range of engineering services – the design, procurement and management of ground investigation, below ground drainage systems and structural design of the substructure and superstructure elements of the development. The practice was subsequently involved in the advanced works of demolition and facade retention.
The building has a prominent entrance on the corner of Vine Street and Swallow Street which opens into a generous reception area leading into a dramatic atrium with the passenger lifts and feature staircase.
The 3rd and 4th floors are arranged around a central atrium and benefit from natural light on all sides. The building was designed by leading Architects Allies & Morrison.
Constructed by Sir Robert McAlpine Limited, the project has taken two honours at the 2008 Property Week Office Development Awards, ‘Overall Development of the Year – London’ and ‘West End Development of the Year’.
