CampbellReith undertook a soils investigation resulting in a reduction of waste costs for this housing development for Catalyst Housing.
During the groundwork phase CampbellReith was contacted by PRP Project Services following the unexpected identification of asbestos containing materials in the shallow soils. This had resulted in a substantial, and unanticipated, upward adjustment of the project cost plan associated with the disposal of hazardous wastes.
CampbellReith coordinated an additional investigation of the soils, with the input of asbestos specialists, to provide a detailed hazardous properties classification of the soils concerned.
The result comprised the reclassification of waste soils arisings as non-hazardous and the reduction of waste costs by 50%.
