Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our London office. As a senior engineer you will take the geotechnical lead on projects.
Your role will include:
- Leading the design and management of ground investigations
- Preparation of ground models and geotechnical risk assessments
- Geotechnical design and analysis, including foundations, earthworks, retaining walls, slopes and ground movement assessments
- Technical review and mentoring of junior staff
- Ownership of geotechnical deliverables and quality assurance
- Site support of ground investigations and construction
- Providing geotechnical advice to colleagues and external stakeholders
- Preparing fee proposals and inputting to project bids

Key skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in civil engineering, engineering geology or an MSc in a ground engineering discipline. Structural engineering and geology degrees with a strong focus on geotechnical engineering will also be considered.
- Chartered with the ICE or GeolSoc or on track to achieve this within 12 months.
- Experience within an engineering consultancy with people and project management skills commensurate with the role.
- Strong interpretive report writing and geotechnical analysis skills.
- Experience in the use of geotechnical software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio, Wallap and the Oasys suite (or equivalent)
- A UK driving licence.
