Meet the team

My career in contaminated land started back in 1993 when the industry itself was just getting started!

Before joining CampbellReith, the largest project I had worked on was the remediation of a former gasworks site at Greenwich, enabling the development of the Millennium Dome (now home to the O2 Arena). Here, I helped set up the on-site laboratory and managed the team responsible for validating the works over the space of 4 years.

Aside from having a passion for risk assessment and problem solving, I especially enjoy working on projects from inception all the way to completion – being a part of the process from start to finish. This interest led me to join the Land Quality Department at CampbellReith – a multidisciplinary consultancy. The role here is to ensure that as well as being technically accurate and cutting edge, the assessments and solutions are both practical and pragmatic during construction. I manage the Land Quality team in London, but across all our offices the teams operate as one unit as we regularly meet to share project experience, new ideas and developments.

My area of expertise is ground gas assessment, and we are working on several former landfill sites that were previously deemed unsuitable for residential development by others. Through detailed assessments we have shown the risks on each site to be easily managed and much more cost effective than originally expected.

Outside of engineering

I have two passions: live music and my old VW camper. Combining these two together, my ideal weekend would be at Glastonbury, the Williams Green or Park stages – via the real ale tent!
