Role
We seek a candidate with experience of design in all materials. You will produce design calculations, assist in and review the preparation of construction drawings. You will also undertake site visits, surveys and inspections of structural works and existing buildings and assist in writing and preparing reports or sections thereof.
This is an opportunity to join an experienced team that prides itself of technical excellence and you will be strongly encouraged to develop your technical and professional expertise with whilst working on a wide range of interesting and varied regional, national and, on occasion, international projects.
The role would suit an experienced graduate engineer with some recent experience of UK codes and Building Regulations and who is looking to continue working towards chartered status. You will work under the direction of a Structural Associate and Partner and will be responsible for producing and managing information for our clients.
Key Responsibilities and attributes will include:
Key skills
- Recent experience of detailed design for a variety of Structural Projects.
- Experience in a range of relevant analytical software packages and 3D modelling, SCIA is highly desirable but not essential.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Eurocodes, Building Regulations and industry guidance
- Conversant in proprietary software e.g. SCIA, Excel.
- A questioning / challenging approach and ability to apply engineering judgmentAbility to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage time and work to deadlines.
- Commitment to producing high quality work including reports.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Values sustainability and creativity in design, community activity and inclusivity.
- Working towards Chartership of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
- May suit an engineer with approximately 3 to 5 years experience.
Education
Minimum BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
Training
