CampbellReith is participating in a CIRIA Project Steering Group, tasked with producing a new publication which is intended to provide guidance to developers who deal with ‘small’ contaminated sites. As well as providing practical guidance and support for developers and other organisations who deal with such sites, the main objectives of the guidance are to encourage effective and sustainable redevelopment of brownfield land, and to improve the confidence of those who are involved in these projects.
As part of the research into the development of this guidance, a short survey has been devised by CIRIA which aims to collate the views of those involved in the redevelopment of brownfield/contaminated land, particularly with respect to understanding the issues developers face when dealing with contamination.
Should you be interested in providing your views to CIRIA on this matter, we would be grateful if you could complete the survey, for which the closing date is 25th January. The opinions that are provided will help to establish any further areas of research required, and will ultimately help to determine the content of the guidance. CampbellReith has a wealth of experience in the investigation, remediation and validation of contaminated sites, which includes land proposed for smaller-scale housing and commercial/industrial sites. In addition, we were part of the Steering Group responsible for the development of CIRIA Publication C773 – Asbestos in soil and made ground: a guide to understanding and managing risks.
