A Fond Farewell to Steve Calder as He Retires After More Than Four Decades at CampbellReith

31 July 2025

This month marks the formal retirement of Steve Calder, one of CampbellReith’s longest serving and most highly regarded Consultants. Since joining the practice in December 1981, Steve has played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s journey over more than 40 years.

Steve became a Senior Partner in the early 2000s and went on to support the practice in various leadership roles, including a period overseeing financial matters during times of both growth and uncertainty. His steady approach and thoughtful counsel helped guide the firm through challenging global events, including the 2008/9 financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Beyond his financial leadership, Steve has made an enormous contribution to project delivery, applying his technical expertise and practical insight to a wide range of complex schemes. His involvement in the Jersey Energy from Waste Facility, numerous Premier Inn developments, and his support for Olympic venues, spanning both Summer and Winter Games since 2012, are just a few examples of his impact on high-profile projects across the UK and beyond.

In August 2020, Steve transitioned to a non-executive LLP member role, continuing to offer guidance and support. As he now formally steps into retirement, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for the dedication, humour and integrity he brought to every aspect of his work.

Thank you, Steve, for everything.
