My inspiration for structural engineering first came about during my first year as a Civil Engineering undergraduate. One of my professors shared a perspective that deeply resonated with me. He said, “A surgeon may save lives one at a time on the operating table, but a Structural Engineer can safeguard hundreds, even thousands, by ensuring the integrity and safety of the structures they design.” This profound statement triggered my curiosity and solidified my decision to embark on a career in Structural Engineering.
I have 3 years of post-graduate industry experience after completing my Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
My main skills developed through these years include structural analysis and critical design thinking. My commitment to clear communication and managing expectations with architects, clients, and contractors not only optimises workflow but also nurtures robust professional relationships.
Outside of engineering
In addition to my professional pursuits, I am passionate about exploring the world and engaging in the arts. I am an enthusiast of sound production, and a personal highlight was conquering the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to raise funds in support of a charitable initiative in Uganda by Engineers for Overseas Development (EFOD).
