8 September 2017

TibbaldsCampbellReith JV has recently been appointed as the preferred consultancy to take the Former Electrolux factory site at Spennymoor forward for redevelopment following a recent procurement process via the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) Multi-Disciplinary Framework Panel.

The commission will see the provision of environmental and civil engineering consultancy services to prepare the 17 ha brownfield site for onward development of 425 residential dwellings and 5,000m² of retail, office and industrial uses.

Planning Consent was obtained in 2015 and the project now moves into the next stage of works, with a significant geo-environmental and geotechnical investigations to design the necessary remedial works. The investigation, assessment and remediation of contaminated land requires an understanding of many different specialist disciplines that we possess in-house as part of our multi-disciplinary approach.

We regularly provide Pre-Planning Engineering Advice to the our clients and so we are able to utilise this experience to ensure that the HCA receive sufficient information to bring the site forward for development.
