Shortlisted for the NCE100 and GE Awards 2018

1 March 2018

We are delighted to announce that CampbellReith has been shortlisted for the NCE100 and Ground Engineering Awards 2018.

Our enabling solutions at Kilnwood Vale have been identified as a strong case study for the “Innovation in Project Initiation” category at the NCE100 Awards. By applying innovative geotechnical, civil and environmental treatments along with the masterplanning decisions, we supported our client to unlock the development of a large landfill site for a housing project. The project will provide 2,500 houses when finished, as well as school and associated infrastructure.

After winning the “Consulting firm of the year” award at the Ground Engineering Awards 2017, we have now been shortlisted for the “UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of over £15M” category. This year is the Awards 10th anniversary, which makes the shortlist even more special.  In this occasion, we prepared a joint entry with Bouygues UK for Phase 4 of the Proton Beam Therapy Centre for UCLH. The main challenge of this project was the design and construction of a 28.5m deep basement in central London to host the proton beam therapy treatment area. Numerous constraints  affected the site, including close clinical and residential buildings, LUL tunnels and sewers. The basement was completed in the summer 2017 and building of the healthcare centre continues.
