Meet the team

Andrew Frost

Consultant

I was inspired to follow a career in engineering by my father, who was an agricultural engineer. After graduating with a BEng (Hons) in civil and structural engineering from University of Bradford in 1981, I joined White Young (now White Young Green), Leeds office before joining CampbellReith in 1984. Since joining the practice some 36 years ago, I have been involved in the design of some exciting and prestigious projects. I have gained a wide range of experience in the design and construction monitoring of structural and building development works, specialising in particular in the commercial, self-storage, residential, retail, hotel and student accommodation sectors, working for both public and private sector clients.

In my capacity as a Senior Partner, I am responsible for leading multi disciplinary design groups to ensure successful delivery of designs on a variety of projects. My key skills include maximising the potential of constrained city centre sites using innovative foundation solutions and deep basement construction techniques.

I have had the pleasure of working on many historic building refurbishments and façade retention schemes and was also a member of the CIRIA steering group for the publication of the best practice guide on retention of masonry façades.

I thrive on the problem solving aspects of the role of a structural engineer. I particularly enjoy working collaboratively with other design team members and with contractors to deliver real added value to our clients.

Outside of engineering

I am an ardent motor sports enthusiast – both spectating and participating. Whenever I get the opportunity, you will find me racing around a track! DIY takes up a large portion of my spare time and I also like to travel in the UK and abroad.
