My engineering journey began with a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, at the University of Leeds. During my first year, a lecturer’s impassioned speech sparked my interest – a call for more architects in the world.

While the course developed my architectural design far beyond the rudimentary scribbles I started with, it revealed that my passion remained in the structural analysis and design of the projects I worked on.

With my mind set after graduating, I joined a Manchester consultancy as a Graduate Structural Engineer, gaining four years’ experience delivering small-to-medium scale projects across the education, residential and industrial sectors. Through the domestic extension design work I undertook there, I developed an appreciation for the positive impact engineers can have on improving the spaces people live in.

Since joining CampbellReith, I have already expanded my experience into temporary works design for the exhibition and events sector, an area I had not previously worked in. I look forward to continuing to learn every day and to help contribute to shape the world around us.

Outside of engineering

Outside of work I enjoy going to live music events as well as playing six-a-side and supporting my local football teams.
