As part of our commitment to social value, our London Development Planning team volunteered with Surrey Wildlife Trust to support habitat management at Whitmoor Common Site of Special Scientific Interest. Activities for the day included the removal of the invasive species Himalayan balsam, which outcompetes native plant species in the summer, before dying back in the winter and leaving riverbanks vulnerable to erosion.Fortunately, its preference for damp, shaded environments helped keep the team cool on what turned out to be a sweltering but very rewarding day.
