As a chartered structural and civil engineer with over 25 years’ experience since graduating from the University of Bristol, I have worked across various sectors, particularly commercial offices, industrial, hotels and residential.

I am experienced in complex structural refurbishments and retained façade projects. Since joining CampbellReith, I have worked on several high-profile projects of this type in the City of London and Westminster. I am involved in complex long span structures for exhibition centres and self-storage retail outlets. I have also been heavily involved in producing Structural Risk Assessments to support the building safety case for HRBs in the last 5 years. I have even designed a set for a James Bond film.

As a Partner at CampbellReith, I manage various teams on my project work. This includes cross-discipline work with my colleagues in the civil, land quality, geotechnical and transport planning groups. I also steer the risk, quality and environmental management aspect of CampbellReith projects to ensure they meet our high standards.

The mix of maths, physics and pragmatism has always drawn me towards structural engineering. It is, by its very nature, about using the right amount of material to support the creation of great architecture as efficiently as possible.

Outside of engineering

I enjoy running in my spare moments and recently completed a half marathon. My next sporting endeavour is to take up rowing, following my son and daughter into the sport. I also enjoy strumming a guitar (or planning to buy a new one) and playing the piano.
