Designer Dan Pearson won Best in Show for his recreation of a corner of Chatsworth’s garden at RHS Chelsea. The winning garden, the second biggest in the history of the event, ran into problems during the preparations when two large brick-built Victorian sewers were uncovered just under the garden display area.
Thames Water, concerned about the imposed loads from the large trees and rocks making up the award winning display, approached CampbellReith for a solution. The team of engineers got involved, ensuring that the organisers were able to complete the garden design and that the sewers remained protected.
