Chris is a chartered civil engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry. He has been with CampbellReith since 2007 and now leads the Civil Engineering/Development Planning team in CampbellReith’s Manchester office.
During this time he has managed numerous projects, mostly in the commercial, retail and residential sectors. Chris now works predominantly in the Development Planning area, providing due diligence advice to developer clients for asset acquisitions, technical support throughout the planning process and detailed design and implementation for post-planning stage.
Chris has been involved in a number of interesting projects, including the Wadi Alswani H5 Hotel and Villas in Libya, where he lead the civil engineering input, responsible for the detailed design for new 350 key hotel ($100m) and 45 luxury villas on the border between Libya and Egypt. He leads CampbellRith’s projects through the Homes England Multi-disciplinary framework in the North West and the Midlands.
In his spare time Chris enjoys outdoor pursuits including skiing, cycling and football: he has been known to run the odd half-marathon. Chris recently tried orienteering with his eldest son but got lost!
Chris has given presentations to primary schools on civil engineering and has also hosted ‘Engineering Your Future’ workshops on behalf of the ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers), promoting civil engineering as a career choice to sixth form students.
