Tom Wycherley, structures engineer in CampbellReith’s Surrey office, won the British Expertise International Rising Star award in the Young Consultant of the Year category for his involvement in the Cape Sierra Hotel in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The British Expertise International Awards ceremony took place on Wednesday 5 April at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, where clients and peers gathered to celebrate the success of British companies working on projects all over the world.
The Cape Sierra Hotel is a large multi-storey concrete frame structure for a new Hilton hotel in Freetown. Tom has designed a variety of concrete elements from slabs, columns, beams, shear walls, retaining walls and other structures. He briefly visited the Freetown to monitor the project progress and become the first junior engineer at CampbellReith to visit the site.
