Alex is a chartered geologist and has worked in ground engineering since 1997. He joined CampbellReith 2001.
He has both UK and international experience, covering a wide variety of ground conditions, market sectors and deliverables. Alex works closely with his geo-environmental, civil and structural engineering colleagues so as to provide ‘joined-up’ cost effective engineering solutions. Alex is a key member of staff and along with the day-to-day management of the geotechnical team he sits on the Practice’s Quality Management, Engineering Executive and London Office Management committees.
Alex has extensive experience in the design of foundations, basements and earthworks and in the assessment of slope stability and ground movements. Recent projects he has been involved with include: the design of the stabilisation of a 42 ha landfill site in Crawley for a residential development, the assessment of ground investigation data for 25m deep basement in central London, and the design of a ground investigation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for a 33-storey hotel.
Alex is a keen badminton player and is the treasurer of his local club. Alex has an active faith and has held a number of positions of responsibility at his local church, including managing its £250,000 annual turnover. Alex has a passion for electronic music; he enjoys reading science fiction novels and hill walking.
