Graduate Geotechnical Engineer
Reliable, hardworking and fuelled with Curiosity.
My grandfather inspired me to pursue a career in engineering through his works in irrigation and I have always been fascinated by how infrastructure benefits a community. I’ve been lucky enough to experience three different cultures, and meeting new individuals is always enlightening. I completed my A-levels in the Middle East prior to moving to the United Kingdom. I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a BEng in Civil Engineering and undertook a placement year working as a trainee site engineer for a groundworks contractor, where I gained experience of the UK construction industry and developed an interest in ground engineering.
I joined CampbellReith as a graduate geotechnical engineer in July 2021. I enjoy geotechnical engineering because it is both an art and a science; using equations to perform analysis and testing procedures that provide data, but you also have to “read” the landscape in terms of understanding geological strata and history, as well as groundwater conditions. The role also provides a good balance of site and office work.
Since joining CampbellReith, I have realised that no two projects are the same, which gives me the opportunity to learn and grow. My colleagues are knowledgeable and approachable and come from a diverse range of backgrounds. I am excited to begin my career in such a supportive environment as work towards achieving chartership.
