Windsor Half Marathon – running against cancer

28 September 2015

It has been months of training – early morning and late night runs, and on 27th of September at 1:00pm 12 hearty CampbellReith runners started off on a life defining run.

The Windsor Half Marathon is aimed at raising funds for CLIC Sargent for Children with Cancer, UK Cancer Research and Bloodwise, among others. It takes place every September at Windsor Great Park, and is run over a distance of 21.0975 kilometres (13.1094 miles). Set in the shadow of Windsor Castle and running through private Royal Estate land, this half marathon isn’t short of scenery. Windsor Half Marathon is a date runners cannot miss, not every day they have the chance to contribute to charities while running around Windsor Great Park and Windsor Castle.

CampbellReith’s runners joined the 33rd edition of the Windsor Half Marathon and all finished the race in one piece and proud of their contribution. It was a challenging day, with very warm conditions and a late start. But the runners bravely overcame all hurdles set in their way and finished well ahead of the times they had set for themselves: they completed the marathon in a combined time of 24 hours 53 minutes.

Besides taking part in the Half Marathon, CampbellReith’s team has organised various activities during the recent months to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, one of the biggest charities in the UK providing support for children and young people with cancer. They raised a total of £2,725.44.

Well done team!
