Simon Burr

Simon has been working in the environmental consultancy field since 1993, with specialisation in contaminated land risk assessment, investigation and remediation at a senior project management level.

 

He is a registered Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC) and a ‘Qualified Person’ as defined under the CL:AIRE Development Industry Code of Practice for Waste Soils.

 

As well as responsibility for managing and delivering the environmental work of the Practice he has developed waste soils assessment services, including the production of Materials Management Plans, which enable appropriate reuse of waste soils.

 

Simon is also responsible for maintaining CampbellReith’s human health and groundwater risk assessment capabilities. He has overseen a large number of regeneration projects and manages a number of client portfolios.

 

Simon has considerable experience in undertaking and managing detailed site investigations, human health, groundwater and vapour risk assessments, and remedial design.

 

He is a member of the Society for Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA) and was a representative in government consultations concerning revisions to contaminated land statutory guidance. He is currently a member of their sub-committee, which is developing an accreditation scheme as part of the proposed National Quality Mark Scheme for land affected by contamination.
