Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, London

CampbellReith has undertaken the £42m refurbishment project of Park Lane Hotel, the flagship hotel for Sheraton European. Located on Piccadilly and comprising 300 bedrooms, the hotel is a Grade II listed building dating from 1912 and is the first hotel to feature en-suite bathrooms.

The main work is focused upon the hotel bedrooms where interior walls will be rebuilt to ensure equal room sizes, and mechanical and electrical services will be replaced. CampbellReith assessed the existing structure to confirm the need to upgrade the floor to support the remodelling. The current roof also requires additional support for the installation of machinery.

The faience stone façade of the hotel requires repairs due to the corrosion of embedded steel. This is a long-term project due to in-depth survey work, the extensive timescales required for manufacture of new faience stonework, and employment of an experienced contractor to complete the work.
