Ewer Street, London

This £9m development on Ewer Street in Central London provides student accommodation to house 150 students. The nine-storey building has luxury private rooms with en-suite kitchen and bathroom facilities. There is a reception and communal amenity space on the ground floor, and student bedrooms on upper levels. A partial basement is also provided for plant rooms, cycle storage and laundry facilities.

The site is constrained by a Network Rail viaduct and the Jubilee line underground tunnel running below the viaduct. CampbellReith was able to obtain approval for the development proposals from Network Rail and London Underground during the design stages. We undertook a detailed flood risk assessment as the site lies within the undefended flood plain of the River Thames.

In addition, CampbellReith also advised on the geotechnical and environmental remediation of the site and provided input to the BREEAM assessment to achieve an excellent rating.
