CampbellReith has been involved in the development of City Place since BAA Lynton purchased the site in the mid-1990s. The development located at Gatwick Airport South in West Sussex is a flagship office development and is sited on the runway of the original airport.
Over the years the development has increased in size and incorporates new and existing office buildings along with the listed Beehive building.
CampbellReith advised on the extensive on- and off-site infrastructure works which include subsequent phases of the development for two further office blocks, a hotel, and the redevelopment of the former National Air Traffic Services site.
Liaising with a number of authorities, agencies and companies, CampbellReith developed the design and construction of extensive link roads to provide access, utility services and drainage to the various development plots.
Significant work was required to accommodate the new infrastructure including the demolition of buildings, removal of redundant fuel tanks, removal of an existing pedestrian tunnel, adding a new connection to the nearby trunk sewer and temporary road closures.
